Short answer: No it is married to the console

Besides being responsible for powering and initialising the cpu, gpu and southbridge it also handles wifi, bluray and boot modes. The firmware on the chip holds various information unique to the console which is vital; firmware version, sku, various data from EID etc.

Hi,
thanks Stubbly for your answer ...

Need opinion on my problem pls,

- BSOD just after the wave menu, and console never restart or pass to standby mode !
- change PSU > BSOD
- change HDD > BSOD
- do all parameters in recovery mode > BSOD
- downgrade to 3.55 > BSOD
- Change NOR FLASH > BSOD
- Reflow southbridge > BSOD

Now i think i have pb on SYSCON eeprom or with the southbridge.
What the you think ?

thx

I would try a new southbridge first then I'd check over the flash dumps from the downgrade for any irregularities then probably ask on #ps3downgrade on efnet/irc for more help.

I do wonder if the norsod.pup firmware will bypass the blue screen as well as the red screen, it may still blind vsh.self from it but only if its patched as well. If it does work then you will have access to the xmb to try out various homebrew and QA ways to mess with the flash contents that cause blue screens.
